Technology, financial knowledge and communication – these are the three pillars of the new online program My Business. My Future. By Visa in association with OMR. Together, they want to empower local small business owners to start a successful digital future. The online tutorial will start on May 4, 2022 and is available to entrepreneurs for free.

Interested traders, freelancers, startups and founders can expect content on the educational platform that explains digitization opportunities in an understandable way and makes their companies fit for the future. “Together with our partner OMR, this year we want to help more independent small and medium-sized businesses on their digital journey by connecting them with the resources and partners they need for financial literacy and connectivity to grow and succeed,” said Merle Meier-Holsten, Head of Marketing, Central Europe at Visa. Summarizes the purpose of the programme.

Formats range from podcasts and information publications to webinars and white papers, delivered by experts from the fields of online markets, knowledge and financial trends, digital payment acceptance, cash register systems, business accounts as well as business banking, accounting and tax services—specializing in small businesses, start-ups and freelancers.

Jurgen Schäubel, Head of Merchant Solutions and Central Europe Acceptance at Visa, who monitors market developments, knows how important it is to keep up with the times: “In a world where transactions move from cash to cards and digital devices transform, we value speed, security and convenience when making payments and expect every interaction with Branding is easy.”

Access to the network of possibilities

Visa has a longstanding commitment to helping small and medium-sized businesses transition to digital technologies. “My work. My future.” This is an important step. “We don’t just want to provide tools and partners — Visa sees itself as an equal partner for small business owners. Because we believe they can’t be stopped if you encourage their uniqueness and immerse them in a web of opportunity! That’s why we stand by them for the long-term and I would encourage them on their way,” stresses Merle Meyer Holsten.

More than 100 partners across Europe have joined the Visa initiative since 2020 to help small businesses build digital skills. Collaborating with OMR is another step in Visa’s plan to support a total of eight million small businesses in Europe – and 50 million businesses worldwide – on digitalization and preparing them for the future. OMR founder and CEO, Philip Westermayer, made a conscious decision to collaborate: “We are very proud to have a global brand like Visa as a partner.
