Notable achievements by a committed team: Sales in 2021 amounted to 62.1 million francs, an increase of 3.8 percent over the previous year. “Our business has developed well over the past two years and we have achieved the goals we set. In 2020, we have achieved significant growth in terms of sales and employees. As a result, we have allocated a low budget for growth in 2021 and have focused on the further development of the organization,” says Gabriella Keeler, CEO of Cryptocurrency. Ergon Informatik: “I am particularly pleased with our consistently low volatility of less than 5 percent.” This was only possible thanks to the full commitment of 360 dedicated employees. Altogether, they have successfully completed 333 projects for 260 clients, of which 47 are new. Client portfolio remains steady and broad Scope – new projects have been added, mainly in the field of public authorities.
Focus on the financial sector
For banks and financial service providers, Ergon has also proven to be a strong digital partner in 2021. In its newly launched “Open Banking as a Service” offering, Finnova is relying on Ergon Swiss Open Banking solution and security products, which are already being successfully used in a bank in Liechtenstein. Luzerner and St. Galler Kantonalbank creates a joint platform for digital provision 3a with the aim of expanding cooperation to other banks. The Ergon CardX payment authorization solution, ready for instant payments SIC5, is also powerful collectively. With Bank CIC, another bank has joined the community.
Expansion of the power
With several new projects for government agencies, Ergon is also strengthening its position in the government market. A great success is the long-term mandate of the Office of the Prosecutor General and the Federal Office of the Federal Police: in a large-scale selection process, Ergon has been selected as the digitization partner for the “Joining Forces” project in the public tender. An important milestone is the framework agreement of the German partner Thinking Objects’ framework agreement with the Procurement Office of the Federal Ministry of the Interior for the delivery of Airlock software licenses, software maintenance and product-related services. Another project is the “Practical Blockchain Guide to Cantonal Administration,” developed by Ergon with the Cantonal Chancellery of Zurich and the Blockchain Center of the University of Zurich.
still exist widely
Diversity is one of the obvious strengths of Argonne. This is evidenced by the various projects in all sectors. Based on the Ergon order management solution, a dedicated order processing, order processing and invoice platform has been created for WWZ AG. Ergon has built a cloud-based production system and IoT hub for the Feller industrial company in Horgen. Both are building blocks of a “Wiser by Feller” digital home automation solution. Together with long-time client Axon Lab AG, Ergon is driving the Axenita training program forward: new features support collaboration between clinical practices and enable more efficient workflows in the practice.
Air lock: the courage to innovate
With the Airlock Microgateway Community Edition, Ergon breaks new ground in the sales model and releases a free version that developers can use freely as a base version for application security and API in the container environment. The Airlock 2FA solution launched last year shows that this courage to innovate is paying off: It’s hugely popular and led to ten new customers last year. Airlock also celebrates successes abroad: thanks to cleverly created partnerships, companies from Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia and the Philippines are among 22 new Airlock customers.
The innovation project “Heinzelmännli”, which Ergon is implementing together with the University of Zurich, FHNW, recapp IT and Innofactory, promises to bring improvements to everyday business. Vision: A language assistant that improves investment discussions, can handle all Swiss German dialects and thus go beyond understanding words, sentences and commands. In 2021, the focus is, among other things, on acceptance testing, user interaction, speech recognition, machine learning language understanding as well as analyzing the structures of machine learning models.
Through a patent-pending process in the field of Augmented Reality (AR) and Building Information Modeling (BIM), Ergon is leading the digital transformation of architects, engineers and the construction industry. The goal is to have virtual models to be delivered quickly and easily anywhere using a smartphone or tablet, making everyday work during the construction phase easier.
Previous innovation project Airlock Anomaly Shield has now been integrated as a standard into the Airlock Gateway and ensures greater data security. It uses machine learning techniques to detect irregularities in sessions and respond to them with appropriate actions.
Investing in a modern business environment
Ergon has won the “Swiss Employer Award” for the third time. The award is based on an anonymous evaluation by the staff – and thus makes us particularly proud. Ergon continuously invests in an attractive and high quality work environment. For example, hall collaboration rooms are planned in the inner courtyard of the Merkurstrasse 43 (M43) site, which will be leased from May 2022. “We are in the stage of further development,” says Gabriella Keeler, CEO. The way we work is constantly changing: our goal is to bring together the best of the world of work – remote and on-site. The future brings a lot of new things – we grow from it and learn from it. I am proud of our employees. Now we look forward to more meetings and to further develop our way of working.”
