Three Holy Kings: Since January 1 and 2 are on weekends, there is no need to take a vacation. The next holiday – Epiphany – follows directly on January 6th, on Thursday. Those who take time off from January 3-5 and January 7 have nine consecutive days off – and use only four days off.

Easter Holiday: April is especially good for using bridge days. Due to the Easter holiday, April 15-18 (Friday to Monday) is free. If you want to take an extended vacation during Easter, you can apply for a holiday from April 11 to 14 and/or from April 19 to 22. With the weekends on April 9 and 10 and on April 23 and 24, you can get 16 days off – but you only have to take eight days off.

Ascension of Christ: Ascension Day (May 26) always falls on a Thursday. If you take Friday, May 27th as a holiday, you don’t have to work four days in a row.

Pentecost and Corpus Christi: June also promises many days in Bavaria. Pentecost falls on June 6. If you file a holiday from May 7 to 10, you can have nine consecutive vacation days, including the weekend. Thursday, June 16th is also Corpus Christi and Friday is a good day to bridge the gap.

Assumption day: In the Bavarian provinces where Assumption Day is celebrated, you can have nine days off thanks to the bridging days. The Assumption of the Virgin falls on Monday, August 15th. If you take a vacation from August 16 to 19, you have a total vacation from August 13 to 21.

German Unity Day: German Unity Day falls on a Monday in 2022. If you want to turn a long weekend into a full week, you should take a holiday from October 4-7. Read also: The Day of Reformation: Where is Eid Day Everywhere?
