Asus is revamping a number of its Zenbook series laptops as part of its Performance Summit. The new flagship is the Zenbook Pro 16X OLED, and the Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED, Zenbook Pro 15 Flip OLED, and Zenbook Pro 17 are also new. The 13-inch class is offered by the Zenbook S 13 Flip OLED and Zenbook S 13 OLED.
Zenbook Pro 16X OLED (UX760)
The name says it all: the name OLED in the notebook’s name refers to the mostly used screens, while the name of today’s event refers to the added performance. Detailed data sheets aren’t available yet, but the new Zenbook Pro 16X OLED flagship (UX760) now has up to 14 cores with a Core i9-12900H instead of Intel’s previous maximum of 6 cores. And where the GeForce GTX 1650 Ti represents the limit in the GPU area, the GeForce RTX 3060 laptop GPU moves in with the new model. Both components can have a built-in TDP of 140W in performance mode, without throttling according to Asus. Perhaps this is only the case in standard mode, which should sound only 40 decibels.
In the display area, the change from 16:9 to 16:10 with more vertical space is the big innovation, with 4K resolution displayed on the OLED panel now reaching 3840 x 2400 pixels. On the Zenbook Pro 16X OLED, the screen stays at 60Hz while other models go up to 120Hz. However, up to 550 cd/m² should also be achieved with this model, which also masters Dolby Vision, has been Pantone validated and certified for DisplayHDR 500 True Black.
The Zenbook Pro 16X OLED is expected to be launched in Germany during the second quarter, with prices starting at €2,999.
