FIFA becomes EA Sports FC / Play Experience

Electronic Arts announced today that world-famous soccer games will continue under the new EA SPORTS FC brand from 2023. This move will allow EA to work with more than 300 partners from across the soccer world to create the world’s largest interactive game for a growing community.

EA SPORTS FC will be a platform for Electronic Arts to develop, create and expand new experiences. It will bring more aspects of the sport to life and harness the collective power of more than 150 million players in EA SPORTS global soccer games – reaching hundreds of millions of new fans in the coming years.

“Our vision for EA SPORTS FC is to create the largest and most influential football club in the world at the heart of the football fan scene,” said Andrew Wilson, CEO of Electronic Arts. “For nearly 30 years, we have built the largest football community in the world – with hundreds of millions of players, thousands of partner players and hundreds of leagues, associations and teams. EA SPORTS FC will be the club for both of them and for football fans around the world.”

EA SPORTS FC brings the power of more than 300 single license partners, giving players access to more than 19,000 players across 700 teams, 100 stadiums, and over 30 leagues around the world. Through EA SPORTS FC, EA will continue to expand the reach and strength of its football licensing portfolio by maintaining and expanding licensed football content, expanding new experiences, and increasing access across additional platforms. EA will also build on the foundation of inclusivity, driving innovation in women’s soccer and grassroots football for the global community.

The launch of EA SPORTS FC will have no impact on existing EA SPORTS football games. EA and FIFA are looking forward to the release of the largest and most comprehensive EA SPORTS FIFA ever, later this fall. The latest FIFA product will also have more modes, features, teams, leagues, players and competitions than any previous version. Fans can experience these updates across the EA SPORTS FIFA ecosystem, including FIFA Mobile, FIFA Online 4, and eSports. More information about EA SPORTS FC will be available in Summer 2023.
