A storm moved from the west through northern Germany. In Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein and northern Lower Saxony, the Emelind low was much milder than expected. The south was hardest hit.

A man was slightly injured on Friday when a tree fell on his car, a police spokesman in the city of Enbec, Northem district, said. So the L580 had to be closed between Mackensen and Merckhausen. Hundreds of missions in Lower Saxony after the storm

DWD has already warned of bad weather on Thursday. In Lower Saxony there have been many damages and operations of the fire brigade since the afternoon. A Depphols fire brigade spokesperson spoke of hurricane-like devastation between Solingen and Barnstorf. The firefighting teams in the area counted 270 operations. A person was seriously injured by a falling tree near Edelstedt. A firefighter was also taken to the hospital.
