A storm moved from the west through northern Germany. In Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein and northern Lower Saxony, the Emelind low was much milder than expected. The south was hardest hit.
A man was slightly injured on Friday when a tree fell on his car, a police spokesman in the city of Enbec, Northem district, said. So the L580 had to be closed between Mackensen and Merckhausen. The hurricane destroyed about 50 trees.
Several buildings in Merckhausen were also damaged. According to the information, B497 between Neuhaus and Uslar is closed due to fallen trees. No major damage occurred in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
