Lewandowski has publicly split from Bayern Munich

‘History is over at Bayern Munich’ – Lewandowski urges farewell

Robert Lewandowski is pressing for an immediate departure from Munich. “My story at Bayern Munich is over. I can’t imagine another good collaboration,” said the forward at a press conference for the Polish national team on Monday.

Robert Lewandowski wants to leave Bayern Munich, but he hasn’t been able to do so yet. So far, criticism of the Poles has been limited, but now he has intensified his tone so much that there is no longer room for hesitation. Especially since the agreement with the successor is imminent.

sThe Chiefs are working hard on the future team while Robert Lewandowski is on vacation. The Bayern Munich star recently made an appearance on the Cote d’Azur, attended the Cannes Film Festival and the Formula 1 race in Monaco and celebrated in a restaurant at the weekend. It could be his last summer break as a striker in Munich.

Lewandowski may leave the club before the new season, and a move to FC Barcelona is under discussion. At the Formula 1 race, he told Polish TV channel “Eleven Sports PL”: “Spain is great. We have a home in Mallorca. The feeling of Spain is there and I think it’s a really good place – not just for a holiday there.”

The next day, Lewandowski was already with the Polish national team – and he continued. Less moderate this time. The striker publicly parted with Bayern Munich, and his statements cannot be interpreted in another way. “My Bayern term is over. I don’t see any way to continue playing for this club. Bayern are a serious team and I don’t think they will keep me, I don’t want to play there anymore. Transfer is the best solution. I hope they won’t stop me,” Lewandowski said at a press conference.

Bayern now have to ask themselves more if it makes sense for them to insist on fulfilling the contract. Especially since club president Oliver was already seeing Lewandowski’s potential successor on Saturday night: Sadio Mane.

His contract with Liverpool is valid until June 30, 2023, and Mane wants to take on a new challenge after six years with the Britons. PSG should also be interested. It is said that Mane can imagine moving to Munich.

Salary can play an important role in this step. Mane is said to earn a total of €12m a year at Liverpool and is by no means a top coach for Jurgen Klopp’s squad. In Bayern, the Senegalese player can clearly show. According to reports, a three-year contract with an annual salary of at least 15 million euros per year is under discussion.

The market value of Mané is estimated at around 80 million euros. Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic had several discussions recently with Bjorn Bezemer, Mane’s advisor. Liverpool should be prepared to talk about if the fee is 50 million euros or more, maybe Munich wants to offer around 30 million euros. The sale of Lewandowski (contract until June 30, 2023) could bring in more than 40 million euros. Bonus payments may be an argument at Mané Poker, where clubs can meet for around 40 million euros.

Bayern have already found two new players, defender Nossair Mazraoui and midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, both from Ajax Amsterdam. But this is not enough. Especially if Lewandowski leaves, they still have to sign a top player to attack.

Real and Arsenal want Gnabry and Tolisso to leave

Mane prefers to go down to the wings, and coach Julian Nagelsmann could modify Bayern’s playing system accordingly. If Mane’s commitment succeeds, Serge Gnabry will likely leave Bayern Munich.

The national player has not accepted an offer from the club (reportedly €17-19 million per year) for a contract extension, and Bayern does not intend to make any improvements. Real Madrid and Arsenal are said to be interested in Gnabry.

Meanwhile, the club announced that Corentin Tolisso will leave Bayern after five years. The contract with the 27-year-old France international, which expires in the summer, will not be extended, the club announced on Monday in a farewell letter to Mercy Coco.
